Paper or Plastic?
Crikers! Brookings Councilman Tom Bezdichek doesn't like plastic bags and intends to ban their use in Brookings.
Seriously? Studies have shown that plastic bags make up less than 1% of litter so banning them will do little to solve the litter problem. Facts are that plastic uses fewer resources than a paper bag and are cleaner and safer than most people's reusable bags. And contrary to popular belief, the paper bag disposed of in a modern dump site will still be intact 100 or so years later just like the plastic bag since modern dumps act more like tombs. But hey this is just another "feel good" solution for all the eco-twits. I can almost feel the glow.

Re: Paper or Plastic?
I actually prefer plastic bags. They are more recyclable then paper. Can be used for small trash bags and various other uses.

I wish tree huggers weren't always so freakin clueless about what the profess. Plastic is probably one of the most recycled products and believe it or not...forests are grown and harvested like corn for paper. I wish all these do-gooders would dig a hole and live in it without further interaction with anyone else.

How many years you been doing this?
(Remember you said this on another thread: "I was only nine months old when 9/11 happened so I don't remember anything." so that makes you 13, if you are referring to 9/11/2001)
