Deadheat in Wisconsin Governor's Race

Crikers! A deadheat in Wisconsin between Scott Walker and challenger Mary Burke. Burke, an heiress to the Trek bicycle fortune and having the charisma of a 2x4 is giving Walker a run for his money with independent polling showing a virtual deadheat.

Walker hasn't helped his re-election with his business naiveté, claiming Trek doesn't pay corporate taxes. However the old man Richard configured the corporation as a S corp which means all profits flow through to the limited number of stock holders which are taxed. Doh!

It's ironic that Wisconsin Dems have no trouble supporting Burke who besides being born with a silver spoon in her mouth, was a key player in Trek outsourcing jobs to China as Trek grew into the largest speciality bicycle company in the US. Trek barely builds 10k units in the US anymore. Under $2k they are just a paint job anymore. What a disappointment along with their star racer Lance Armstrong.

I can't help myself. I've always felt that to some degree we (the people) possess the ability to determine the arc of this country's future. I don't believe it's all rigged but no doubt there is definitely manipulation of the public by those behind the curtains. While I get discouraged at politicians seemingly all acting the same I still take heart when a Reagan or a Cruz comes along. Baby steps Darth, baby steps.

It appears Mary "Silver Spoon" Burke has stepped in it big time in the Wisconsin race for governor. While still running a close race, Burke has been found lifting much of her job plan from numerous other campaigns almost verbatim. While no doubt embarrassing, this may prove damaging to her campaign since she already suffers from the impression that she is a a lightweight and a dilletante in public policy. Let's all take a moment a cry some crocodile tears for Silver Spoon Mary.

Meanwhile on the home front the Argus Leader is reporting struggling Democrat candidate for governor Susan Wismer has also copied portions of her issues pages from other campaigns. Doh!

It's been a close race in the polls for Governor Scott Walker in Wisconsin all summer, but now it appears he's creating some daylight between himself and Mary "Silver Spoon" Burke in the last Marquette poll before the election leading her 50% to 43% in likely voters.
