When I first heard grumblings about this story I thought it was just a silly spat coming from Mother Jones, but it seems to be gaining traction.

What are your thoughts?

This would be pretty hilarious if it turns out it is true.

Yes sir, this will be interesting to see how it plays out.  I doubt it will be "hilarious" any more than the situation with Brian Williams is or will be hilarious.

Having the crew of a helicopter say, No way" to Brian Williams saying the aircraft was hit with hostile file is one thing but,
other members of a network being in the same big city but apparently not with the person and cameraman at that specific time described by O'Reilly and yelling, "not true" is a tad different.

I reckon Mr. Moreno's lack of comment is an indication of falsehood on the part of Mr. O'Reilly
In a Friday interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt, O'Reilly said the photographer's last name was Moreno. Roberto Moreno was there for CBS. He now lives in Venezuela, and he declined to comment to CNN.

But Mia Fabius, who was the office manager for the CBS Miami bureau at the time, has stayed in touch with Moreno for decades, and she said Moreno has never spoken about any injury in Argentina.

Not sure,
Further, Fabius said no injury report was ever filed.
is proof positive the incident is a fabrication.

Libs are funny, always trying to turn apples into oranges. I sympathize with the loons at Mother Jones etal and the MSM guys who will knee jerk to anything. They are as unreliable as their minions in the leftist underground media who feed them and the pickins have been thin so they'll bite on anything, not unlike Dan Rather.

Two of the most trusted news anchors from back in the day turned out to have lied about their reporting?

I find that incredibly funny.

There may be some perception of them being trusted, only because there were not many other sources of news.

Made it a point to watch O'Rielly last nite. I usually don''t but I was interested to see how he handled Corn. He had a lof of support from the people at CBS who viaified most of the claims that Bill made. Corn isn't being entirely truthful in his reports. He tends to use assumptive reasoning to make his accusations for the most part. I also read a transcript of an interview, Corn and Hugh Hewitt. Corn was very evasive, refusing to discuss the facts of the case and simply threatening to hang up if Hugh kept asking questions about things not in Corns hit piece. In the end Hugh wouldn't allow Corn to rant so Corn picked up his marbles and went off.

That could be the case, there were more reporters from the 80s but those two stick out as supposedly well trusted.

Anther one?

Bill O'Reilly now scrutinized for story of murdered nuns
http://money.cnn.com/2015/02/25/media/bill-oreilly-el-salvador-nuns/index.html

The sad thing is that these allegations will just work themselves right into Fox's "playing the victim" mantra.

Now it's his word against well, his word.  Pretty tough to win that argument. Let's see if Faux can make the only sensible move here.

Smearing? It appears that what he's getting is well deserved.
