Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee, black and a Democrat, hits the nail on the head with his assessment of the Baltimore riots.

“Like Baltimore, like Ferguson, like New York and many other areas where failed liberal government policies have led to high unemployment, chronic poverty, failing schools,” Sheriff Clarke said. “This is what besets the Baltimore area. Ninety percent of the homicide victims in the Baltimore area are black as are ninety percent of the suspects. That’s a bigger problem than Freddie Gray.”

And

“These individuals that are rioting and lotting right now and throwing rocks and bottles do not know Freddie Gray, do not care about Freddie Gray,” he said. “If they were in a nightclub in Baltimore [they] would shoot and kill him for bumping into them on the dance floor.”

He also Tweeted:

“Why are we surprised at this sub-human behavior on display in American ghettos? Lib policies created the conditions,”

"[Obama] mentioned that we all need to do soul searching. I think he needs to do some soul searching about failed liberal policies that have prolonged the misery in the American ghetto...

This is lifestyle choices. These are flawed lifestyle choices people make like dropping out of school, like failing to stay employed, like having kids out of wedlock, father absent homes. Those are behavior changes that go on in these American ghettos that will have to change if we're going to see a change."

This country needs more people, regardless of skin color, in the mold of David Clarke.

They've been curiously quiet when it comes to vilifying him. He was featured frequently and prominently during the riots in Madison and Ferguson, Mo. on Fox. I get the feeling they are afraid of him.

A new wrinkle in the Freddie Gray - Baltimore situation.  How much remains when all the dust settles is unknown.  Could this turn out to be a game changer.

BALTIMORE — A prisoner sharing a police transport van with Freddie Gray told investigators that he could hear Gray “banging against the walls” of the vehicle and believed that he “was intentionally trying to injure himself,” according to a police document obtained by The Washington Post.

The prisoner, who is currently in jail, was separated from Gray by a metal partition and could not see him. His statement is contained in an application for a search warrant, which is sealed by the court. The Post was given the document under the condition that the prisoner not be named because the person who provided it feared for the inmate’s safety.

The document, written by a Baltimore police investigator, offers the first glimpse of what might have happened inside the van. It is not clear whether any additional evidence backs up the prisoner’s version, which is just one piece of a much larger probe.

I sort of feel bad for the poor kid.  After all what is a young rioter supposed to do?

Day-yam, just about beat Chicago where the tally was 9 killed/34 wounded. Since Baltimore is smaller I guess they winned the per capita award.
