University of Chicago Defends Free Speech
Rowing against the tide of political correctness of "safe spaces," "trigger warnings," and "micro-aggressions" that seems to be sweeping across the campuses of this country's universities, the University of Chicago (Go Maroons!) sent a letter to incoming freshmen at The College informing them that that would not be the case at UofC. Kudos to Dean of Students Ellison and the Administration for this bold stance.

"You will find that we expect members of our community to be engaged in rigorous debate, discussion, and even disagreement. At times this may challenge you and even cause discomfort," Dean of Students John (Jay) Ellison wrote. The university embraces this discomfort because one of its "defining characteristics is our commitment to freedom of inquiry and expression."
