Listening to the Congressional Dems today confirms their use of bravado to try and tough it out with the Reps. As for Biden, he's simply being Biden, gruff contentious and er.............. well................Trump like. It'll be interesting to see the effect of someone like Biden with the horsepower to actually do what he says he will. The Dems have a great example of what happens when you do something the people don't like, they have the demise of their party post Obamacare to cite right off the top. Problem is they are erroneously guessing that the same will happen to the Reps it they touch Obamacare, wrong when one of the biggest issues that got Trump elected was the repeal of Obamacare.

Biden is all bluster and bullsheet. Obamacare has been a total disaster. If I have to purchase marketplace insurance for a single person it'll run me $1200 a month for an unsubsidized Bronze plan with a deductible of $6,000@year. Here's hoping the Repubs can get their plan up and running before my COBRA runs out in June.

Six years. Six fukcing years! Nothing! No plan what so ever. All dressed up and nowhere to go. Unbelievable! You'd think with all the attempts to repeal Obamacare that they would have had a plan ready to go. I guess not. Congratulations.

Republicans already jittery about quick Obamacare repeal

Au contraire Fcukstik. There have been numerous suggestions by Republicans as a replacement for that crap Obama peddles as healthcare. However anything that they may have suggested would have been vetoed by The Bummer in Chief and would have been an exercise in futility not unlike you trying to string words together to make a sentence.

In 2013 and 2015, Rep Tom Price introduced replacement programs for Obamacare that were DOA (surprise, surprise). Now, as the soon to be HHS Secretary, much of what he proposed will see the light of day. Stuff like tax credits for people without employer coverage, more of an emphasis on health savings accounts, cross state line purchasing, allowing HSA accounts to purchase insurance policies, and more. Here's a good summary of the Republican's fix of Obamacare's steaming heap.

I don't know if you've heard or not,  but the new congress is now seated and your anointed king will be in a couple weeks. Now is the time. Why are they taking their foot off the pedal? They should be pushing it to the floor. The plan should be in place by the time your reality TV star hits the oval office. Again, they've had six years.

If anyone thought for a second that this cretin possessed a sliver of intelligence, his comment above should erase any and all doubts.  This jackass is a total moron.  I will never understand why any human being would engage in a dialogue with this moron.  He is a fool that is devoid of any morality and unworthy to be a member of a civil society.

First and foremost past Congresses committee debate and work holds no sway over a new Congress. It took Obama until July of his first year to even get ACA bills through committee and the ACA wasn't signed into law until March 23, 2010. Yet you wonder why the 115th Congress is acting too slowly? It's not unlike defusing a bomb. One needs to be deliberate in your actions or you'll blow every thing up. Obama is deliberately leaving his turd blossoms all over DC so the Repubs need to tread lightly.

How much time do you need to "defuse the bomb"? As you pointed out they've had nearly seven years. The plan should be established. All that should left is to print it out and send it to the floor to begin the hearings process and prepare for a vote. Obama was starting from scratch when he worked through the process. Republicans already know what is in place and should have their plan all layed out on how they are going to "fix it". Surely they didn't go into dozens of votes to repeal without a well planned strategy in case the repeal happened to work. Surely they didn't run the last several election cycles promising to repeal Obamacare with absolutely no idea what so ever on how they were going to do it. Did they?

Here's a plan...

THE GOVERNMENT HAS ZERO AUTHORITY TO BE INVOLVED IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!

Government can remove restriction for private insurers to offer their coverage nation wide but after that....

Deliver the mail, protect our borders, and get the hell out of the way of business.

We are a Constitutional Republic where the federal government is supposed to have specific restrictions and limitations on what they can do. It is time we return to that concept if we want to save this nation. Providing health insurance is not in the constitution and only leads to an authoritarian state regardless of which party is in control.

I think Medicare should just be extended into a program you can pay into. If you don't want the government messing with your health insurance, then don't buy it. Easy peasy.

Then ether scrap Reagan's law requiring hospitals to provide medical attention to those in need, change the bankruptcy laws,  or get some teeth behind the individual mandate.

The "working taxpayer"  taxes already go to pay for those who are required to go onto Medicare at age 65. If you want an expanded Medicare system that "you can pay into" that would be in addition to the FICA taxes you already paying. Of course there will be millions of workers who can not afford to pay both taxes leaving millions without healthcare unless of course you push them on to Medicaid, the welfare stepchild of Medicare.  "Expanded Medicare" is nothing more than a dog whistle for Single Payer which is what the Obamacrats were hoping planning for when Obamacarecrap collapsed.

Taxes already paid, or not paid, are irrelevant to this conversation. I'm simply talking about sending a check every month to a public insurance insurance plan that could go under the umbrella of the Medicare program.

Oh mon amie, that's where you're wrong Fcukstik. The FICA taxes paid by workers goes to administer and pay for Part A (hospitalization) of Medicare for the 65+ retirees. Your monthly check would not only have to cover the additional hospitalization for yourself/family but also a premium to Medicare Part B which covers doctor's visits/non-hospitals costs plus your Part D (Rx premium). Now mind you, none of this will cover optical or dental. So roughly speaking, how much do you estimate your monthly premium will be for you and your brood?

You're needlessly over-analysing this to muddy the water. But that's what you do, so it's no surprise. Medicare is already solvent as it is. That is unless the PGiC* sticks his nose into it. So there would be no need for additional money to go toward what is already being offered. You would continue to pay your FICA taxes along with your individual insurance premium, should you choose to take part.

Nope. Not at all. The Medicare "trust fund" exhausts all it's reserves by 2028 (that's according to Medicare trustees) and that is just by servicing retirees 65 and over for Medicare Part A (hospitalization). Medicare is a pay-as-you-go program which is what the FICA taxes are for. Very soon (if we haven't already) we will start to tap the Medicare Trust to pay for ongoing expenses because tax revenues will not be enough to pay for current expenses. 2028 is when the trust goes bust. 11 years sucka, 11 years.

So in your universe with your Medicare Plus, you and all workers will not only have to pay for the 55M+ retirees on Medicare but your own Medicare Part A. Add in Medicare B and Medicare D premiums and you'll have the same situation that you have with Obamacarecrap .... a death spiral caused by sick poor people being the only enrollees. Good luck with that sucka!

To project things more than ten years out is what's called a fools errand.

From your link:

The 2016 report of Medicare’s trustees finds that Medicare’s Hospital Insurance (HI) trust fund will remain solvent — that is, able to pay 100 percent of the costs of the hospital insurance coverage that Medicare provides — through 2028.

Like I said Fcukstik. And that's for only retiree's 65+ and not any of the millions more you want to add to the mix. Reading comprehension. Work on it.

The lack of comprehension is all yours as usual. I don't think that this fund does what you think it does. Let's not let the tail wag the dog here. This fund is simply there to provide a buffer to smooth out the overages and shortfalls of an essentially solvent program. Do some minor changes need to be made to change the trajectory? Sure they do. No surprises there. Costs are continually rising while wages, or taxable income,  remaining stagnant. Baby boomers are just getting ready to hit the system at a much higher rate than what they payed in. I wonder if this assessment has accounted for the very recent push for higher wages? Having more people make a living wage would certainly help replenish the fund. It's not as broke as you'd like it to be. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well Mr Jammer in order for you to engage in dialogue it would require substantive contribution from you - substantially more substantive than an empty vacuous contribution such as this.
