You can make Mexico pay for the wall by taxing the remittances illegals send home. This is Mexico's number two source of revenue only behind oil they sell to US.

Won't this drive factories to Mexico where businesses won't have to pay a tax on their cheap labor?

That's also already been thought of by capitalist America. Wire transfer companies tried to shake down hard working Mexicans by charging high fees to wire money home to their families. Mexicans worked their way around it.

You would be taxing the wire transfers of the individuals not taxing businesses. Since the money is leaving the US economy there wouldn't be any dead weight loss to the economy.

You could even make this a carrot/stick method of pulling the illegals into the economy by creating a special guest worker card that allows worker remittances to be untaxed.

AKA Fake News. Mexico's foreign relations department denied that account, saying it "is based on absolute falsehoods," and later said the statement also applied to the excerpt provided to AP.

AP broke the story. Not a reputation for fake news, but then again no CNN. We'll have to see I guess. I have no reason to doubt it at this point.

Sooo yes, Trump threatened that they had to be knocked out, and that Mexico was not doing a good enough job, and that our military could help out "big league" (whatever that means).

The AP's source certainly didn't give an exact quote, but they got the just of it. CNN though doesn't give them the benefit of the doubt. Good for them.
