I like this guy more all the time. It's refreshing to see leaders in the church push their parishioners to not just talk the talk, but also walk the walk. Much more common sense truth like this and you may actually see liberals come back to the church.

Pope suggests it's better to be an atheist than a bad Christian

I am sure the Pope loves sodomizers. Didn't the Bible say something about sodomy?

Pretty sure Kweers, faggots, and child molesters are all going to hell. This would include all liberals but I repeat myself...

Are you Catholic? If you aren't then why does Pope Frank's blatherings matter at all? Essentially he is making a hash of the deeds/works vs grace/faith argument. I think he is a bumbling old fool who has brought shame to Catholic thought with his idiotic ramblings.

Most people just call them Jesuits.   Jesuits are notoriously liberal and they really are socialists at heart.

No I'm not Catholic. I suffer from something called a Limited Bullshiit Tolerance. That's a whole different conversation. The Pope/Catholic Church sets the bar for crazy for all of Christianity though. He is the one that non-Christians, or at least those who choose not to take part in organized religion, look to for a handle on Christianity as a whole. So yes, what he says is important to me.

Wow! You admire Papa Frank and yet you believe that he sets the bar for crazy and not just for Catholics but all Christians. You must not have heard of the Reformation where the works vs faith argument loomed large.

Frank's claim that an atheist or non-believer who exhibits no faith is more likely to make it into heaven than a "bad Christian" focuses exclusively on works/deeds and ignores faith and the belief in Christ's death and resurrection. And how about Frank's call not to be judgmental about the sin of homosexuality and yet he himself is judgmental about who is or is not Christian. Shame on him.
