Apple Brandy Empty Apple Brandy

The French call it Calvados. Americans call it Apple Jack. Both are a apple brandy. The French distill theirs from apple wine. The Americans make it by freezing apple wine and skimming ice from the top. Both are about 80 proof. Drink it straight or mix it with hard apple cider. My new favorite winter drink. drunken

You using the American version or the French version?

The Frenchmen I met did not mix it with anything just drank it straight at room temperature.

The time or two I tried Calvados in Evreux and Chateauroux, France it was like trying to swallow fish hooks.

I was going to try some Apple Crown Royal tonight but the wifey gave me the look after I had a Root Beer Barrel. I heard some rave reviews. Maybe next time...
