Why Do We Tolerate Lies?

The government lies to us on a daily basis.  Why do we put up with that?

Here are some examples of lies that politicians have told us:

The North Vietnamese attacked us in the Gulf of Tonkin - a lie
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman" - a lie
Benghazi attack was caused by a video - a lie
Vince Foster committed suicide - a lie
No new taxes - a lie
I am not a crook - a lie
Children are being molested in the Waco compound - a lie
Federal building in OKC was bombed by right-wing extremists - a lie
Ebola will never come to the United States - a lie
If you want to keep your doctor, you can keep your doctor - a lie
Man made global warming is real and should never be questioned - a lie
Obama is the first black president - a lie
We are not selling body parts - a lie

Is it any wonder the trust in our government is at a all time low.

The concept that a lie told in the interest of National Security is acceptable has eroded in the present environment to now mean "to cover my ass".  Telling lies has many faces.  Simply redacting documents or hiding under a secret designation is no longer acceptable.  There needs to be a review board to decide what is really classified and what is simply an attempt to cover up a crime or embarrassing situation.  In the case of the broom rider, not having access to ALL the e-mails on here compromised server is unacceptable.  A special prosecutor should be assigned to sort out what is and isn't classified or germain to the events in question.  Since she is running for Prez we should be made aware of what's in her mind as she communicates it to superiors or subordinates and compared to what she is now spouting from the campaign podium.  Elected pols in the past have told us that they may not beleive in a particular law but will enforce the law as it applies in the case.  Obama has refused to do that.  It would have been important to know that before he was elected.  We would have been able to decide if we wanted a Prez that followed his "Do the right thing" instincts or the law.

We lie to the govt and we go to jail.

Govt workers lie and nothing happens.
