Would guess that there is some sort of hardened cable delivering phone service to the bunker? Which carrier offers hardened crisis-ready land-line services?

Such a grim outlook. Nothing is going to collapse like the doomsday scenarios you are so fond of reading predict. At least nothing on the governmental side. There will be no collapse of government nor market. Rubber-Banding is quite common throughout history.

It would take some other worldly act of nature to actually collapse civilization and even then, humans would band together far more than you give us credit for. To think we would just become lawless people, like in The Walking Dead, is just asinine and kind of crazy.
