New Year's Resolution? Empty New Year's Resolution?

Post  Dr. Evil Tue Dec 29, 2015 11:43 am

Anybody have a New Year's resolution?

Mine is to kick consumer credit to the curb.  I'm starting with credit cards. These things are a terrible racket and an absolute detriment to our economy.  I'm done with them.

Weird...I love my credit cards and receive anywhere from 3% to 5% back on every purchase I make by temporarily using THEIR money for ZERO cost because I PAY my bills every single month. Only idiots have a hard time with credit cards because they don't understand the concept of having to pay for things they want. I can understand why you want to get rid of them.

Darth, everything you said is 100% accurate.  I would just add one additional thing.  Credit cards offer another level of consumer protection that you don’t have if you use a debit card or pay cash.

However, we should not be surprised by stupid ass comments like this from Jackoff Jones.  He is a liberal and liberals don’t believe in personal responsibility.  It is always something other than their bad decisions that lead to their problems.

This comment about credit cards is just like how they view guns.  It is never the criminal’s fault that he shot somebody; it was the GUN’s fault.  Therefore get rid of all guns.  Likewise it is not the bad decisions made by dumb ass liberals; it is the CREDIT CARD’s fault.   So get rid of all credit cards.

What I am surprised about is that all the dumb ass liberals didn’t rush in and scream what a brilliant idea Jackoff Jones had.  But perhaps they are finally learning that this guy is always wrong and I mean ALWAYS.

Wow, I had no idea two guys could run a full circle jerk.  That must be exhausting.

I pay my bills every month as well, sorry to dissapoint you.

Two reasons I am dumping the cards:

#1. I got shiit to do.  I pay all my bills once a month, usually around the fifth.  This gives it ten days to get there and posted, but it can be a crap shoot at times as to whether it will post on time and not generate a fee.  My mom used to send her check certified mail if she was cutting it close.  I'm pretty sure she didn't come out on that, but she loved to call them and chew ass when they claimed they didn't get it in time.  As fun as that would be, I don't have the time.  "Postmarked by" means nothing to these leeches.

#2.  Building an economy on credit, especially unsecured credit, is like building a house on sand.  Credit should only be extended to someone who sits across the desk from a banker, opens up his books, and proves his ability to service the debt.

I'm glad you are aware and brought up the nation's debt...do you know that Obama has added nine trillion dollars to the national debt and has double the amount he inherited that was created by all of the earlier presidents combined. That seems crazy...right?

I set auto payments on mine by them withdrawing the entire amount from my bank on the due date. I don't even have to think about it or pay for a stamp.

I couldn't agree more.  About the national debt anyways.  If you look at any graph illustrating our national debt you will see that our debt was virtually stagnant for decades, until Reaganomics came along.  It's been skyrocketing at a steady pace ever since. In fact Reagan himself nearly tripled the national debt during his presidency.  Obama hasn't even doubled it yet.

So how do we undo 30+ years of failed Reaganomics, and fix our national debt?  Either cutting spending or raising taxes seems to be the only two logical solutions.   Since I'm sure you think raising taxes is out of the question,  what do you plan to cut?  SS?  Medicare/Medicaid? Military??  Keep in mind that discretionary spending only makes up about 17% of our national budget and still encompasses things like schools and roads.  So, what are you planning on cutting?  I'm sure you're not bitching just to bitch and that you have a coherent plan.  I'll be waiting.

As far as the auto payments, that doesn't work for me.  Most of my year is spent on borrowed money to some extent.  Because of this I don't keep hardly anything in my account.  All checks get deposited directly in my LoC and I move only enough to pay my bills.

Darth, have you noticed how these dumbass liberals whenever they are caught on the wrong side of an issue always try to piece together a story that covers their tracks?  Most of their explanations are juvenile just like Jackoff Jones’ attempt above.  It is like listening to a 5th grader explain to his teacher how his dog ate his homework.

But did you notice the one revealing thing in his stupid ass reply to you?  He pays his bills around the 5th of the month.  That is how all of the parasite progressive socialists do it.  They have to wait until their government handout checks arrive.

So tell us about this successful business of yours. If it is something I need or want, I might become a paying customer. Or maybe your business is for "females only". If that is the case, I am not interested.

Oh nightlight88 I can't say for certain but it is possible that you have already been a customer ("paying customer" seems redundant. ALL our customers are the paying type. We can't afford to mess with people who can't / don't pay.) We get a lot of your type as customers (as HamFlower? might say middle-aged to elderly paranoid terrified white males). Without discrimination, we happily provide over-the-top customer service to them. As for the business, I'll only say that our's is a businees that aligns well (apparently) with bunker dwelling.
