Crushed in Indiana, 53% - 37%, Cruz has dropped out of the race. It'll be a rubber stamp convention in Cleveland. The only question is if The Donald will be able to unite the Republicans after all his vitriol, bile and krazy talk. I doubt it and I'm not sure it will do any good as the Broomrider will have plenty of insane jibber jabber of the Donald's to make copious negative ads. I'm suspecting a Trump candidacy will doom the Senate as well. As for myself, it appears this will be the first Presidential election I won't be voting in since I first registered in '71.

Please don't do that.  Not voting is the same as voting for the evil socialists.

To my conservative and patriotic friends who don't support Trump: the best thing you can do is remember that all politics is local.   Don't go away; get involved in supporting local candidates. We need to elect good leaders at every level, city, state and local.

Regardless of your feelings after the Indiana primary, there is much work to be done between now and November to secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity.  There is EVIL in this country and it is concentrated in the demonrat party and it must be defeated at every encounter.  We can only do that if GOOD people STAY INVOLVED.

I will not SURRENDER the country to evil scumbags like Jackoff Jones and the tree hugging bitch who lives down the street without a fight.  I hope you will join me.  Without you, who will fight EVIL?

I played the part of the "good Republican", held my nose and voted for McCain in '08 although I despised the man. I voted for Romney too in '12. And although he wasn't the turd in the punchbowl that McCain was, he certainly wasn't a great candidate. Like eating oatmeal without any milk or raisins. Meh.

I've voted for the down ticket Republicans too. Cheered them taking back the House and then the Senate. To what avail? Obama ended up getting pretty much what he wanted. McConnell and Boehner were both idiots, caving into Obama at every turn in the road. And since I brought up Boehner, what is it with orange skin these days? Both him and The Donald look like escapees from a tanning booth prison camp. Don't the powerful have people telling them that they look like orangutans crossed with a raccoon? To zip their pants up, straighten their ties, tuck in their shirts.? But I digress.

Seriously, do you expect Donald's eighth grade economics to be any better than the Broomrider's or Snowball's? Donald's wall will never get built because Mexico won't pay for it and we can't afford it.  Nor can we afford to round up all the illegals and send them home. In fact an honest perusal of Trump's immigration policy reveals it's more like Rubio's except on steroids. Jeebus.

If I could do it, I'd take my name off of the voter's list but there doesn't seem to be a procedure for it except to die. Nope, not going to do it this time. Gonna stay home and drink heavily. Fcuk the Republicans and fcuk Donald Trump. I hope the party implodes.

I am with ya on this. Local and State Republicans are just as messed up as national. They passed two huge tax increases in the last two sessions, they caved to the perverts on the privacy bill.

Republicans will be hard pressed to get a dime from me in donations this year. They have proven NOT to be republicans.

And that is exactly why we have primary elections. Let's work to get GOOD people involved. IF all the GOOD people say they are going to "sit this one out" every time the going gets tough, well let's just say that is pretty much how we have ended up where we are at.

Problem is we listen to candidates who talk a good line about being a conservative, and then they get to the senate or house and turn into liberals or rino's

I understand, but that is EXACTLY why conservatives need to get deeply involved.  My thoughts, comments and suggestions include:

Consider running for an office yourself
Recruit other GOOD SOLID conservatives to run
Volunteer and work hard on the campaigns of GOOD SOLID conservatives
Join issue based conservative organizations and volunteer for them

It has been the same for decades, talk is cheap and nobody does it better than politicians.  One of the more disappointing ones is Kristi Noem.  She ran the first time as a TEA Party darling and said all the right things.  But she turned out to be a RINO slut.

You should consider joining and volunteering for Americans for Prosperity.  They have opened operations in SD and hopefully sometime in the near future they will have the critical mass to begin keeping the state legislators in check.  AFP does a great job with their scorecards and when they have the resources to produce them at the state level they can be very beneficial.

A lot of people downplay the validity or value of these scorecards or as I like to refer to them -VOTER GUIDES.  I am personally convinced that a well done scorecard helps keep legislators in line.  They don’t like seeing the bad scores especially if they know there is a large grassroots organization that will be spreading them all over the state.

Voters need to understand that the WORDS mean very little.  Sure we need to listen to them, but it is the ACTIONS that matter.  My 5th grade basketball coach taught me that.  He said when you are guarding someone; they are going to try to fake you out.  They will give you a head fake or an arm fake and then go the other way on you.  So don’t watch the head or the arms, watch the belly button and if you will go where the belly button goes, you will find the ball nearby.

So when it comes to politics ignore the head and arm fakes (WORDS) and follow the belly button (ACTIONS) and we will end up with a lot better elected officials.  And my final thought is that these scorecards MEASURE ACTIONS.
