Trump's Fake Jobs

Post  Dr. Evil on Sat Dec 03, 2016 9:40 am

So how did he do it?  How did he keep Carrier from outsourcing 800 jobs?  Did he threaten them with their mother company's government contracts?  Was the $7M handout enough? But...

But experts say the state incentives are more likely window dressing

Most research indicates that economic development incentives rarely change a firm's behavior, according to Nathan Jensen, a professor at the University of Texas. "They are a subsidy to a company with little value to society. Our research shows that offering incentives is a great way for politicians to take credit, or minimize blame, for company decisions."

Also $7M doesn't hold a candle to the $56M Carrier says they would have saved by moving their operations.  Was that just a BS figure that overstated their pain?  Surely they were looking for easier access to cheap labor.  Did Trump assure them that their illegal workers weren't going anywhere? We'll probably never know. Judging by what we've seen so far Trump's Administration will be making a lot of back door deals with details that the American people aren't going to be allowed to see.

Trump didn't save as many Carrier jobs as he claimed

I suspect that the uncertainty of the NAFTA agreements is a prime mover here. They are simply waiting for the wind to establish its direction before setting sail.

This has also sent a strong message to Mexico, get serious about border control or else. Perhaps an incentive for the Mexican govt to "assist" in building a wall, real or virtual.

Given your hatred for this nation, liberty, and freedom...why the hell do you stay here? I'm sure we could start a go fund me to send your sorry ass to some third world hell hole.

Easy? No brainer. There are places on the border that are too wild to build a wall and are not used as highways into the country by illegals. These are the areas that dope runners will have to go to get into the country so a "virtual" surveillance and interdiction system is needed there.
As to "or what", the disappearance of more jobs back into the US is most likely the most effective "or what" out there. Even one of the richest people in the world, Carlos Slim, would feel that.

More truth comes out. I'm really looking forward to 4 years of championing half truths and flat out lies. We've been duped. Not me. But America has been. I'm just collateral damage.

Trump's Fake Jobs

Post  Dr. Evil on Thu Dec 08, 2016 7:49 pm

I decided to broaden the topic. I'm sure this is just the beginning. Here's some fun insight into Trump's supposed venture capital deal.  Let's see if you guys can see the problem on your own. Total worldwide venture capital expenditures in '15....

I don't necessarily think these jobs are fake, but any thoughts on this?
