Ethanol Rammed In Your Tank
Looks like you tree hugging rubes couldn't do enough with ethanol so now it is being rammed down our throats. Only a handful of places in Sioux Falls serving non-welfare petroleum now. What kind of government is it that decides what kind of fuel you can burn in your automobiles? I hate these commies with a passion.

Here's the thing about it. If you don't have a special engine that can take it, moonshine gums it up.Darth Cheney wrote:Looks like you tree hugging rubes couldn't do enough with ethanol so now it is being rammed down our throats. Government should just start producing Das Auto for the population. We don't need choices with cars and some people shouldn't ave nicer cars than others. I can't wait until this entire society collapses into the depths of hell.

Re: Ethanol Rammed In Your Tank
I tried to avoid this crap when I went to the Hills last week by gassing up in Murdo. Nope, nobody had non-ethanol available and my mpg just cratered. Coming back I just put enough in my tank to get me to Chamberlain where I knew I could get non-ethanol gas. I'm still getting non-ethanol at the BP station at 6th & Cleveland and the wife just gassed up at Sycamore HyVee with non-ethanol.Darth Cheney wrote:Looks like you tree hugging rubes couldn't do enough with ethanol so now it is being rammed down our throats. How much is the ethanol infusion? You do know who's doing this, don't you?Gomezz Adddams wrote:I tried to avoid this crap when I went to the Hills last week by gassing up in Murdo. Regular grade welfare is around $ 3.14 and the have high grade welfare for around $ 3.47 at Sam's. They stuck the high grade welfare in the non-ethanol side so if your on auto-pilot you get it in the ass twice. Twinkies should be happy.sodaknomad wrote:How much is the ethanol infusion? Looks like it's going to be a region wide change affecting Nebraska, Iowa and the Dakotas.

Avtually SD's gas comes through the same pipeline that serves the Meeneesoooohtah Soviet Socialist Republic. They're the ones forcing the moonshine into our gas tanks.Gomezz Adddams wrote:Looks like it's going to be a region wide change affecting Nebraska, Iowa and the Dakotas.

Re: Ethanol Rammed In Your Tank
I saw this a couple of weeks ago when I drove my old '50s Chevy to town. I went to get gas and could only find %10 ethanol crap.
Very disappointing. I don't want to run that in that car.
And when it comes to the small engines I have on my acreage in my equipment, it's recommended to NOT use it either.

Re: Ethanol Rammed In Your Tank
The problem is Magellan Midstream, the main pipeline for this area, quit pumping 87 octane non-ethanol on September 15th. The only way to get 87 octane non-ethanol now is to blend 84 octane with 91 octane which will raise the price differential between ethanol and non-ethanol blends from 10 cents to as much as 40 cents a gallon. You will see a lot of those stations on that map stop handling 87 octane non-ethanol because it will be too expensive. Demand will crater.
http://www.kcrg.com/news/local/Unleaded-Gasoline-Without-Ethanol-May-Become-More-Scarce-or-Expensive-217435211.html"Instead, the pipeline company will ship an 84 octane unleaded along with the much-more-expensive 91 octane “premium” gasoline. Petroleum retailers said it would be possible to blend the premium fuel with the lower octane gasoline to create the regular unleaded currently available at the pumps. But doing that might increase the price by 30 to 40 cents a gallon at the pumps. Currently, regular unleaded gasoline without ethanol is about ten cents a gallon more expensive at most stations. "
