Back when Shep was a pup (50's - 60's) there were approximately 4M cases per year with a fatality rate of about 400. Today's death rate from vehicles is about 1 in 10,000 just about the same as measles was 50 - 60 years ago during a "real" epidemic. Where's the outrage?

Speaking of measles, over the last 20 years or so I have heard a person who did have measles developed some natural immunity but never saw it in print ... until now.

I don't see much outrage over this issue, esp. when compared to the Ebola debacle. I just think it's an interesting conversation. It does show however how quickly things like this can spread when the proper precautions are not taken. It was definitely worthy of epidemic status if you were standing in CA I would say.

This is not unlike the very low percentage of homosexuals in this country making the most noise. The percentage isn't the same as this example, but they sure are the loudest even when they are the very low minority of people in this country.
