The Martian
I've never cared much for Matt Damon movies but I must admit I did enjoy "The Martian" quite a bit. Maybe it was Ridley Scott's crafting of the storyline, but the 2 hour + movie moved quickly and the plot twists seemed plausible unlike some sci-fi movies. 4 1/2 stars on Netflix so I guess I'll give it a 5 because Matt Damon's character is a University of Chicago alumnus (go Maroons!). His character is a botanist and the botany/biology ponds are amazing on the Quadrangles. Spent many moments wandering through them.

Noah
Came out on Amazon Prime so I watched it...
I thank God I never spent any money at the theater seeing it. It was a liberal interpretation of the Bible, poorly done, with a tree hugging bitch sub-message. Some great stars but absolutely terrible plot.

I absolutely refuse to support the progressive liberal Hollywood elite and financially reward them for their efforts in destroying this country. Unless a movie has strong conservative themes that consistently portray what is good and right about this country or has conservatives that have significant creative inputs, I will not attend or even view it.
I believe conservatives must vote with their pocketbook before the evil progressive socialists take it from them and redistribute its contents without your consent.

Hmmm. I guess I didn't see that. Outside of Damon's character shaving down a crew member's wood crucifix in order to start a fire to ignite hydrazine to produce the water to grow potatoes while stating that Jesus would be okay with it due to his current situation, I didn't see any other Biblical references although one Christian review that I read said it was a brilliant retelling of the lost sheep parable.

Other than the tender stroking of the potato plant shoots and Watley being awed by the Martian landscape, I guess I missed the tree hugger sub-message too. As I said, I found the movie enjoyable even with it's science mistakes and Jeff Daniel's insufferable character as NASA head.
