My niece drew a picture of Santa with a black beard. Take time to think about that! Mind blowing!!!

You bring up an interesting point. We know that Adam and Eve's lives didn't begin at conception. How can we be sure anyone else's life does?

Re: Take all the time you need.
Titian's "Adam and Eve" is representative of Renaissance religious art where the artist depicted the perfect human form with an attention towards symmetry and proportion as not only the the ideal of beauty but also of man being formed in God's image. Even the pre-Renaissance art of the Romans and Greeks, who were also attentive to the perfect human form, depicted their gods with navels. Check out the Greek goddess Venus who was born from sea foam in the sculpture Venus de Milo:

Oh Gomezz, your recitation of classical art and literature is always excillarating. I had to take Art Appreciation while in college, but I never retained that much from it. Were you required to take arts and literature classes in college ?
I think what you are saying is that Skeptical's observation is not a valid concern. Really just a result of the way that the various artists have expressed themselves rather than portraits or statues resulting from painting and sculpting based from sessions with real-life models.

Hay Zeus, Fcukstik, it's fcukin' art! It could also be (and has been) interpreted as the severing of Man from God through his sin of eating from the Tree of Knowledge, much as an infant is severed from it's mother after birth. It's allegorical, dipschtick.

So you are basing your argument for the mutilation and killing of unborn children on your premise that Adam and Eve were not conceived? And since they were not conceived, that life does NOT begin at conception?

I'm saying that Adam and Eve provide biblical proof that life does not begin at conception. The mutilation and killing part completely on you.nightlight88 wrote:Dr. Jones wrote:Adam and Eve still weren't conceived.Gomezz Adddams wrote:Dr. Jones wrote:Statue or no statue, Adam and eve were never conceived.Gomezz Adddams wrote:Titian's "Adam and Eve" is representative of Renaissance religious art where the artist depicted the perfect human form with an attention towards symmetry and proportion as not only the the ideal of beauty but also of man being formed in God's image. The Biblical creation story mirrors many creation stories that predate the Bible. For example the story of man being conceived by a Sky Father and an Earth Mother. Think about it. God (Sky Father) blowing the breath of life (seed/sperm) into dirt (Earth Mother). This was how Adam was conceived
"Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being." - Genesis 2:7

Your side says the Bible is fiction, so how can you use it as PROOF? And since I am pro-life, the killing and mutilation is on YOUR side.

Let me get this straight. You are using the Bible to prove your point that life doesn't begin at conception?
So, using the Bible, when does life begin?
