There have always been both voters and politicians that have changed party lines. And unfortunately it is not always because their values and principles have changed and they are now better aligned with the political party that represents their values and principles. I don't know what the % of dishonest deceiving assholes is that change parties for the wrong reason, but it is high.

Voters change parties even though they have not changed in their values and principles primarily to fool their friends, neighbors or more than likely their employer and also to vote in closed primaries to dishonestly affect the opposing parties selection of candidates. Politicians will deceptively change parties for only one reason and that is because they cannot win their election running in the party that most closely identifies them.

It is usually pretty easy to identify these assholes. When they change parties during time periods like now in West Virginia when the state is clearly waking up to the EVILS OF LIBERALISM, it is almost a sure thing that any candidate changing their party affiliation to Republican is a lying deceiving REPRESSIVE LIBERAL. Sometimes you have to watch the actions of these politicians and see how they govern or vote during the legislative process. That is when organizations like Americans for Prosperity, the Heritage Foundation, Club for Growth and others monitor their actions and reports them in their annual scorecards.

These cretins all call themselves Republicans to get elected in a conservative state, but do not change their stripes. They govern and legislate almost like a liberal. They sneak a few meaningless votes in when it does not make a difference to try to conceal who they are. However, their behavior is that of a liberal both in Pierre and when they are back at home.
