In a 5-4 decision, the SCOTUS ruled in favor of Hobby Lobby that providing contraceptives under the Obamacare health mandate violates 1st Amendment religious rights. That's not thunder you are hearing but Progessive's brains going poof.  cheers cheers

Dr. P takes AutoBubbly to the wood shed:

The majorities opinion was very narrow and addressed that very issue. Alito writing for the majority:

"This decision concerns only the contraceptive mandate and should not be understood to hold that all insurance-coverage mandates, e.g., for vaccinations or blood transfusions, must necessarily fall if they conflict with an employer’s religious beliefs."

When you've run out of logical arguments for justifying the Obamacare mandates there's always the blood transfusion canard. The Jehovah Witness objections in these cases would be personal and don't apply to non-believers nor to a company paying for it. Abortion on the other hand is viewed as murder by some and to mandate that is seen as being complicit in an immoral act, the very thing that the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was written for.
