Purpose of the Federal Government Empty Purpose of the Federal Government

Post  Dr. Evil Sat Feb 18, 2017 11:16 am

If you believe that the only function of the federal government is to allow states to write laws, then why even have a federal government at all? Why did our founding fathers even bother creating the United States of America? Why did they write a Constitution? Why not have each state be it's own country?

The extremely limited knowledge of our country, founding documents, and type of government is stunning. The Constitution is to specifically express what exactly is the limited roll of the federal government is. All other powers are to be awarded to the States and local governments. Only in your world and a few other communistic regimes does a centralized government exist and in every case in brings widespread misery. You really should move to one of those countries to live your dream.

Why even have a federal government then? Or a country?

Why even have a federal government then?

Protect our borders,

Deliver the mail,

Defend our nation from enemies domestic and abroad.

Our nation is similar to NATO...a group of "States" banning together to better defend themselves.

Now go and tell other liberals what you have learned here.

Darth gets it. The decentralization and lessening of centralized state power is always good. The reducion of the size and scope of centralized state’s power is always healthy for individualism.

YOU STUPID PIECE OF DOGSHIT

The FEDERAL government exists to fulfill the 20 POWERS DELEGATED TO IT in Article I of the Constitution, to honor the 6 RESPONSIBILITIES assigned to it by Article II of the Constitution and to adjudicate the 11 different types of disputes assigned to it under Article III of the Constitution.  And NOTHING MORE - everything else is reserved to the STATES respectively or the PEOPLE.

Dr. Evil/Dr. Mengele/Dr. Jones/whatever you use

Learn these words that are the first three words in the Preamble to the Constitution of the United States of America.

WE THE PEOPLE

Then study the first ten Amendments to the Constitution paying particular attention to the 10th:

"Amendment 10
Undelegated Powers Kept by the States and the People

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states respectively, or to the people.
"

Simply put, the government IS THE SERVANT OF THE PEOPLE!

So there's 37 things that the federal government does? Wow that seems like a lot for an entity that is supposed to have no power. What exactly are these 37 things?

Why would you need a central government to protect yourself? Wouldn't treaties and alliances be enough?

BIG MOUTH JACKOFF JONES as usual could not read the Constitution and understand what he read.  He was OK up until he hit the phrase "We the people" and that confused him.
