The story you linked does say that most of the nation is saddened by this man's death. Any suicide has it's own brand of tragedy, and losing a child is really tough. Some of those tweets were cruel, but I think the parents and family know better than to put any stock in that kind of crap. The catholics could keep quiet at this time out of respect.

Those voices that scream the loudest for tolerance are often the most intolerant. You see this constantly, like the attacks on Palin, and knocking crosses out of old ladies hands, etc etc.

I don't think the catholics ever were very tolerant. On lots of things, not just this suicide deal.
