Moms for Toomey/Manchin deal
PRESS RELEASE

INDIANAPOLIS, April 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The bipartisan agreement on
background checks announced today by Sens. Pat Toomey and Joe Manchin III
represents a significant step forward for Congress in demonstrating their
commitment to making American children and families safer.
The new legislation proposed by the Senators does not solve all the problems of
the current system. However, it is a vast improvement from the piecemeal
policies that exist now, which allowed nearly 7 million gun sales last year to
be completed without a criminal background check, accounting for almost 40
percent of all gun sales in America.
We are confident the Senate will take action tomorrow to move the debate to the
floor for a full vote, and we will now mobilize our mom members to put pressure
on Congress to pass this legislation and to prove to their constituents that
they value the safety of our country's children above all else.
Today's announcement of the background checks agreement is only the first step
in an uphill battle for common-sense gun laws in America, but mothers remain
undaunted - we will go to any length to protect our children. Eight children are
killed every day by guns in the United States; the 80 million moms in our
country will not stand for inaction by Congress on sensible gun laws.
For too long, America has made access to guns more important than the rights of
our children to live safe and full lives. As a result, gun violence has become
an American crisis, threatening every community: rural, urban and suburban. We
can't afford to wait for every American family to be affected by gun violence
before we act.

What a bunch of morons spouting propaganda.
Facts:
Gun Show and Internet sales of guns go through background checks.
The only non-background check sales are between private citizens and represent less than .01% of total gun sales.
Democrats are control freaks and will willingly enslave you if given the chance.

Too late, the progressives have already repeated 40% enough for the slaves to KNOW it to be true. :farao:
gun violence has become an American crisis, threatening every community: rural, urban and suburban.
Keep repeating this one too, and watch the dumbed down public buy it.

Re: Moms for Toomey/Manchin deal
Don't tell me this was a vote on another one of those bills that nobody could read before voting on it? So I heard.
Why would any idiot vote for any piece of legislation without reading it first?
I really don't have much of an issue with non-FFLer being required to do background checks at gun shows. I know some do. My logic, if you want to call it that, is that there are plenty of FFLers at gun shows who would be more than happy, for a small fee, to run the check. Its not like having to drive across town, or in rural South Dakota, where the nearest FFL might be some distance away (or are closed for the day).
I basically look at this as letting the anti-gun folks "win one" that really is of no major consequence. If it keeps them happy for a bit, then we've actually won. Another bit of functionally meaningless gun legislation. Perhaps then they will go on to something else not having to do with guns for a while and leave us alone.

I respectfully disagree. The government has no business with any background checks nor should any special license be needed for concealed or open carry. The politicians have bastardized and ignored the rules of this Great Nation. Shall Not Infringe means exactly what it sounds and the ability to defend oneself is a God given (Natural) right and not something allowed by government. Whatever the government gives it can also take it away. The Second Amendment is clear and it is about time these lowlife politicians start following their oath and uphold the Constitution. There is ONLY one reason they want all these restrictions and rules and that is to eventually ban all firearms. They are well on their way and about to meet deadly resistance.

That's it. And so easy to understand. Why do we have to keep repeating it. Tyranny, that's why. Liberals don't believe tyranny even exists. We are not going to loose our freedom over night. It will be a little at a time. Or a one bill at a time.
We need to bring back tar and feathers!!!! Hear Ye!!!!

Is loose a verb or an adverb? Maybe a noun?

Typical lib...ignore content and try to re-direct topic. It must be painful to see your commie hopes and dreams being exposed for all to see. Similar to the good abortion doctor now on trial that the media has a complete blackout. The liberal sacrament of murdering children is also coming to an end.
Go now and tell the others what you have seen.

I was just asking what type of word that was. Not sure where all the commie, abortion, murder, blackout stuff came from.

May I offer one of the standard retorts often found here on JSI ?Darth Cheney wrote:Typical lib...ignore content and try to re-direct topic. I like that word. It has such a Norm Crosby-iness about it. I nominate it for the JSI's New World Dictionary. Good work SL.

Man I hope I put that comma in the right place. So the smart people don't pick on me so much. Now go and lick your wounds, report what you have seen and get your /you're precious hiney powdered.

Liberalism is a mental disease but it isn't nice to make fun of them...they are sick.

I'd love to see a repeal of the Second Amendment introduced and reported to the floor. Then we all can see just who really wants to grab our guns.

I think deep down both parties would like to ban guns to ensure their longevity. Government has turned tyrannical and no longer serves the peoples needs.

Ok Ok I'll answer; I have no idea why liberal can't use proper grammar, maybe he's stupid. BTW I didn't say it, you did. Which just makes you sound even more stupid.
