Yup - Big Brother has been watching (and tracking) for years - some things for decades.
Everyone who uses a cell phone, can be found almost immediately. Drive your car, use an ATM, use a credit card, and your location is known. Go to any private business with security cameras, and you are seen.

Do you have a job? A social security number?
Do you use a computer (of any kind)? Do you pay a utility bill, cable bill, phone bill, grocery bill, insurance? Do you have a bank account or a drivers license? Do you vote? Do you write checks? Ever applied for a loan? Do you have a mailing address? email? - - - -
Your habits are known - and you can be tracked, whether or not you are driving a car.

So that's the reason the dimbulbs in PeeAir are making us keed our same car plates even after we sell the car off.
