Didn't take a jury long to return a verdict of guilty in the case of the guy on trial for killing Chris Kyle and Littlefield.

Big mistake in not going for the death penalty.   Why should taxpayers be required to pay for the costs to keep this asshole for then next 50 years?   Give him 6 months to file one appeal and if denied, render the punishment.
