The American Dream? Empty The American Dream?

Post  Dr. Evil Wed Mar 16, 2016 8:14 pm

I was talking about this to someone the other day.  You simply can't afford to live in the US anymore.  Costs are going up, up, up and wages are stagnant.  Even with record levels of production and businesses sitting on record amounts of cash, workers are barely skimming by.  Our country will not prosper until this problem is fixed.

The American Dream? Empty Re: The American Dream?

Post  Jammer Sun Mar 20, 2016 5:37 pm

The American Dream is vanishing and it is the direct result of progressive liberalism.  Progressive liberal principles, policies and programs are without question, the sole destructive force that will deprive future generations of Americans from attaining the American Dream.

One only has to connect the dots to realize how the evilness that is politely called progressive liberalism is the root cause of this decline.  First, there is only one thing that generates prosperity and that is the system of Free Market Capitalism.  There is nothing else that provides a sustainable environment where every person has an equal opportunity to enjoy prosperity.

One only has to listen to the democrat debates to understand how unrelenting the progressive liberal attack is on the only system that creates prosperity.  The dots along the way are many.

You can begin with the progressive liberal invention of crony capitalism that many Republicans are also quite fond of once they learned how to politically benefit from it.  The drivers of Free Market Capitalism are innovation and competitiveness.  Once companies learn that it is easier to rig the system than it is to innovate or that it is easier to buy influence than it is to compete, the system of Free Market Capitalism suffers and begins a destructive decline.  And it all started with progressive liberals using crony capitalism to buy political contributions and votes.

But that is not the only progressive liberal force which is destroying the American Dream.  Thanks to progressive liberal policies and programs that have:
- increased the regulatory environment
- restricted the ability to develop our natural resources and thus drive up energy costs
- maintained a corporate tax code that is noncompetitive and fosters crony capitalism
- allowed unions to drive the productivity out of our workforce
- created an environment where workers no longer understand that they must provide value to their employer commensurate with what their salary is
- destroyed our educational system to the point where we can no longer produce STEM graduates to meet our needs

Progressive liberals have driven this country to the point where it is so costly that American manufacturing companies cannot compete and they have taken their manufacturing and the resulting jobs overseas.  And it is very simple; an economy that does not produce anything is not sustainable.

Without a properly working system of free market capitalism, we are destined to slide into third world status and it is all the direct result of PROGRESSIVE LIBERALISM.

Wrong.   Free Market Capitalism eventually creates the type of winner takes all atmosphere we are dealing with today.

One only has to listen to the democrat debates to understand how unrelenting the progressive liberal attack is on the only system that creates prosperity.  The dots along the way are many.

Name a few.

Which liberal companies do you think were the pioneers of crony capitalism in America?

But that is not the only progressive liberal force which is destroying the American Dream.  Thanks to progressive liberal policies and programs that have:
- increased the regulatory environment
- restricted the ability to develop our natural resources and thus drive up energy costs
Driving up energy costs? Kind of a strange point to make right now,  don't you think?
- maintained a corporate tax code that is noncompetitive and fosters crony capitalism
As compared to who?
- allowed unions to drive the productivity out of our workforce
- created an environment where workers no longer understand that they must provide value to their employer commensurate with what their salary is
Due to employees productivity is at all time record highs, and companies are making record profits.  What type of value are you looking for?
- destroyed our educational system to the point where we can no longer produce STEM graduates to meet our needs
People can no longer afford to go to college.  Neither the parents can afford it,  nor the student who's post graduation salary couldn't support a living much less paying off college loans.  We've priced ourselves into a skilled labor shortage.

Progressive liberals have driven this country to the point where it is so costly that American manufacturing companies cannot compete and they have taken their manufacturing and the resulting jobs overseas.  And it is very simple; an economy that does not produce anything is not sustainable.

Would you rather have the type of sweat shops these products are being manufactured in right here in the USA?  These are countries where,  what basic necessities they have,  are provided by their government.  Not the case in the US.  These manufacturers are simply looking for the best of both worlds, and they've got it.  If you want a one way ticket to one of these economic powerhouses that you speak so highly of,  Gomerr is handing out tickets.
Without a properly working system of free market capitalism, we are destined to slide into third world status and it is all the direct result of PROGRESSIVE LIBERALISM.

No.  Without working capital to flow through the system,  like blood through our bodies, we are destined to slide into third world status.  Actually more of an Oligarchy status.  See most oil laden countries in the middle east for reference.

The American Dream? Empty Re: The American Dream?

Post  Jammer Mon Mar 21, 2016 11:14 am

It is difficult for good Americans when they hear a liberal speak to determine whether they are listening to the devil or a moron.  The devil is pure evil while the moron is nothing more than the devil’s useful idiot.  Regardless which one of them is spreading the misrepresentations, distortions and outright lies, THEY ARE BOTH EVIL.

So rather than trying to decide when you hear them disparage Free Market Capitalism whether they are clueless or the devil trying to convince you “to take a bite of the apple”, don’t converse with them.  You should immediately drive a stake thru their heart.  They are evil and there is no place in this country for any progressive liberal.

Anyone who truly understands the system of Free Market Capitalism realizes that it provides everyone who participates in it an EQUAL opportunity to enjoy prosperity and yes even become wealthy.  However, something that many people don’t think about is that it actually makes it very difficult for any single person to become excessively wealthy.

When somebody comes up with a great idea that is making a lot of money, others rush in to compete either with a lower price or an innovative improvement that is actually a better idea.  Innovation and competition keeps any single person from collecting all the wealth.  However, when the progressive liberal crony capitalism takes over and the government begins picking winner and losers there will be a very few winners who do get excessively wealthy.  And surprise surprise, these excessively wealthy people turn around and give large political contributions to the progressive liberal politicians who picked them to be the winner.

It is so easy to see when Free Market Capitalism is allowed to function that many jobs are created to meet the demands that result from the supply of these great ideas.   The large number of jobs drives up wages merely by companies trying to hire the best, but the jobs are also more demanding in the skills required to do them.  Thus they create more value for the employer who in turn must pay higher wages to acquire employees with these skills.

On the other hand, when progressive liberals have destroyed free market capitalism about the only jobs left are flipping hamburgers.   And while stupid liberals think all these burger flipping jobs are worth $15 per hour, they are low value jobs and the average Americans suffer mightily.

Also it is easy to see how progressive liberal policies and programs drive up energy prices and therefore drives American manufacturing companies to move their manufacturing overseas.  A few years ago progressive liberal regulations and restrictions had driven the price of gasoline up to $5 a gallon and natural gas up to $14 per mcf.   This was because they had effectively limited the supply of oil and natural gas production to the point that demand was much greater than the limited supply that progressive liberals would allow to be produced.

But thanks to innovation and PRIVATE landowners, oil and natural gas production skyrocketed and the price of oil and natural gas plummeted to levels today that the average American can now afford.  So even though progressive liberal policies continue to prevent increased oil and natural gas production on GOVERNMENT land where MOST of the reserves are, private citizens and the system of FREE MARKET CAPITALISM have once again delivered at least a glimmer of hope that all Americans can enjoy prosperity.

It is time to take the fight to the streets and eradicate progressive liberalism.  Otherwise our children and grandchildren will grow up in country more like North Korea, Cuba or Venezuela rather than the great country we grew up in.

Energy costs (oil and natural gas) are low right now in spite of Obama regulations and policies and not because of anything Flapjacks™ has done. This is due to the advanced fracking technologies brought about by capitalistic competition.

Real rich to receive sermons on the evils of crony capitalism delivered to us in South Dakota dominated by good old-boy backwater Republicanism.

I fixed a portion of your missalette for an accurate portrayal of crony capitalism as we know it in SD.

You really need to bone up on the politics and economic structure of international fossil fuel segment of the world economy.

I hope Gomezz might be able to organize a couple of seminar sessions from his U of Chicago class notes.

BTW, AFA domestic energy policy, who was in charge of the White House when these phenomena of high prices of gasoline and natiral gas occurred ?

Oh Mr Jammer your graphs only present Domestic Production.  There is a lot of the world supply picture which is left out of your simplistic view.  And you have included nothing about domestic price. Isn't that what you were bitching about ?

P.S. Domestic Production does not equal Domestic Supply - outline and discuss.

It's not about what Obama did do,  it's about what he didn't do.   And that's impede oil production to the point of a shortage.  You can flaunt this "cutting edge" 60 year old fracking technology all you want, but the only reason it worked is because capitalism bloated the price enough to make it profitable.  Oil companies aren't the only ones to blame though.   We also have Wall Street who likes to buy and sell our necessities like they're trading baseball cards.  Anywho,  this same capitalism that may or may not have gotten them into the market will most certainly be what squeezes them out.  The Middle East will win the race to the bottom on crude oil prices, and if you think that our own refineries will choose US oil over ME oil because this is 'Murica, whell.....good luck with that.

I am not even going to bother to address these stupid comments by liberals as they are clearly morons and don’t have a clue.  For any conservatives who wish to learn more, here is a link to see what the increases in US production of crude and natural gas have been.  You can then go to the graph that shows the worldwide supply and demand over time and do the math yourself.  You will see that the vast majority of the increased crude production that has created the oversupply has come from the US. Obviously with Iran just being able to produce in the last month, that will have a minor impact going FORWARD.

https://www.eia.gov/petroleum/production/?src=home-b2#oil-tab

And as for natural gas, even a complete moron should realize that we get the vast majority of our natural gas domestically.   Something like 98% of our natural gas is produced in North America.  Our largest source of natural gas from overseas is from the farts of liberals getting off planes coming back from their Obama funded overseas vacations.

I am sure the liberals are totally clueless on how natural gas can or cannot be transported.   US natural gas production increases have come from one place and that is from the new technology that makes shale reserves available.

Alright Sleazy Slut, tell us how much natural gas we exported to China and India.  It is probably just slightly less than you fart each day.   Also, please inform everyone how we got it there; since it is such a simple and cheap process.

Natural gas exports are insignificant.  I am not even going to look it up, but it is probably well under 5% of total US Production and most of that went to either Canada or Mexico via pipeline.  Sleazy Slut, could you point out where the pipeline under the Pacific runs?

Mr. Jammer the parts about exports from the US are found in your link.

And you need to talk to Boone Pickens about the ways that natural gas can be processed and shipped.  He has been tilting at that windmill for a long time (hint the initials CNG and LNG will get you toward understanding.  see also propane).

I have no respect for progressive liberals.

Your comment shows your lack of technical knowledge on the issue.  Here is a link giving some rough information on the costs to convert natural gas for shipment.

http://shareholdersunite.com/the-ioc-files-useful-background-material/the-economics-of-lng/

Take a look at the cost per mcf and then take a look at what the spot price for natural gas is today.

https://www.eia.gov/dnav/ng/hist/rngwhhdM.htm

When natural gas was at $14 per mcf, this was a great idea.  It was such a great idea that several companies spent a LOT of money building facilities to import natural gas into this country because we had a shortage.  Then thanks to the system of capitalism and some innovative petroleum engineers, we have enjoyed a shale oil and natural gas boom.

Now with the low cost of natural gas in the US and somewhat elevated international prices, there are now some people who think this will work in reverse.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-12-31/five-questions-for-europe-s-gloomy-natural-gas-market-in-2016

If you are interested, I can get you into some Limited Partnership deals that will be happy to take your investment.   Good luck with that one.  I have bought into one now that it is selling for 20 cents on the dollar.   I am sure that the rest of the world will never wake up to horizontal and directional drilling let alone consider fracking.   So pour your money in and wait to reap the rewards.
