As foolish as it is that she was allowed on a plane, planes aren't the only place to contract this deadly disease.  A restaurant, a move theatre, a gas station, all places that are as bad if not worse, they just lack the political fanfare that a plane has.  Those who are treating Ebola patients should be confined to the hospital.  Plain and simple.

i, for one, don't need a lecture on where and how Ebola can be contacted.

With that said, I will address your last statement with a few questions that would need to be answered.

You want to confine those treating Ebola victims. Does that mean all peeps in a hospital where the victim is being treated? How can you keep several hundred peeps locked up in one hospital building? Do you pay them overtime to be there? How do you feed them without contaminating more folks who bring the food. How abour beds and blankets for these several hundred staff members? Did you think about the logistical problems when you flippetly said "lock them all up"?

Aren't we being bombarded with calls to not exagerate and the ONLY way to catch Ebola is by contact with the bodily fliuds of those showing the symptoms?

Can you honestly say a person showing any of the symptons of Ebola such as

Diarrhea, Fatigue, Fever. Headache. Nausea, Sore throat, Vomiting,
Bleeding from eyes, ears, and nose, Bleeding from the mouth and rectum (gastrointestinal bleeding), Eye swelling (conjunctivitis), Rash over the entire body that often contains blood (hemorrhagic)

would actually be allowed to be among the general public and in A restaurant, a move theatre, or a gas station?? Rolling Eyes

Airplanes rapidly expand the zone of contagion by compressing time and distance making containment of a virulent pathogen exponentially more difficult.

I would say there is no comparison in how many people you would expose in three hours at the mall vs three hours on a plane.

Read your own post, copied and pasted below, and then ask yourself if you seriously think a person showing the symptoms of Ebola infection would be out among the general public possibly infecting others in those places you mention???

It is obvious you seriously think a person showing the symptoms of Ebola infection would be out among the general public possibly infecting others in restaurant, movie theater, gas station, or other places.!!

Or you could very easily have eliminated the part about the public places and left your phrase "Those who are treating Ebola patients should be confined to the hospital.  Plain and simple."

If someone is bleeding from the eyes that should throw a red flag for any business. How would you go about checking for diarrhea?

Nope, never mention bleeding eyes on aircraft ..
If you reread Dr. Jones claim people in A restaurant, a move theatre, a gas station could catch Ebola ...and if Dr. Friedman is correct then the only way people in these places could catch Ebola would from another person with the symptoms and bleeding eyes is one of the symptoms.

Where are the reports of people bleeding from their eyes on airplanes?

His e-mail account.

So you have examples of people bleeding from their eyes, ears, noses, & throats on airplanes? No chain mail references, please.

I don't know about Dr. Friedman, but Dr. Jones says that if you see someone who is bleeding out their eyes, you should walk the other direction.
